The Unicorn is situated in the beautiful Leicestershire village of Orton-on-the-Hill. A family run country pub and restaurant, The Unicorn Landlords run right through from Grandfather to Grandson. The current refurbishment has seen a total transformation, bringing the pub and restaurant right up to date in design and decor. The size of the venue is vast and has been cleverly sectioned into two main areas, pub/restaurant and function room.

In the Bar and Restaurant a colour palette of cool greys and warm ochre have been used. Plaids and block colours against deep mahogany on the Modena and Avon dining chairs, give the scheme a traditional meets contemporary finish. Chunky tables with straight angular lines complete the modern structure to the design.

Using higher tables and chairs close to the bar gives an extension to the area, this has also provided more valuable room for service and space for customers. Chunky poseur tables are placed with Avon bar chairs and Chunky bar stools sit neatly under existing bar areas.

Going through to the function room, although important to have continuity with the decorative scheme, a more colourful fabric palette has been used. By Incorporating interesting and colourful fabrics, like the ILIV Lismore Mulberry, it feels like a space for fun and entertainment. The Avon chairs have the bold print on the back pads and complimentary blackberry and riviera  on the seat pads for contrast and practicality.

Contrasting check fabrics have been used on the Luigi dining chairs in teal and damson, moving the eyeline around zoned areas. Round and rectangular tabletops break up the vast space and introduce curves and angles to the room. Using varying shapes and textures it allows them to reconfigure the room in multiple ways to suit specific functions and group sizes.
