The Royal Oak, Nottingham
In 2024, The Royal Oak in Watnall near Nottingham, went through a full refurb and selected us to provide some of their furniture for the grand reopening.
Floors came up, walls went down, roofs were retiled - the entire building underwent changes to lean more into the cosy country aspect that people have grown to love.
A big part of this refurbishment was a renewed focus on the food. Downstairs had increased seating capacity while a dedicated upstairs barn-style restaurant was created. In this room, there's a mix of International Leather Products hair-on-cowhide and Sandersons Evesham Deer backed Lisbon's with Bison Vinyl inners around vintage wood effect table tops.
Back downstairs, the tub chairs and Banbury's by the fireplace are covered in ILIV's Amara Juniper Velvet and Fair Isle Garnet, which create a comfy nook, perfect for the upcoming winter.
The Banbury's carry on through to a small bar area where a couple of Spitfire armchairs are waiting for customers. Having this dynamic mix of dining chairs, tub chairs and armchairs creates originality and a personalised seating experience for customers, which is important for repeat visits.
On the way outside, you'll pass a handful of mid-height Avon's up against fixed bench seating for people to gather around for drinks or while they wait for their table to be ready.
Outside is a brand new garden area with a standalone events barn. Having a dedicated space for parties, wedding receptions, celebrations, etc. adds a level of class to an experience that few places offer.
Nextdoor to The Royal Oak are two self-contained B&B's that were renovated along with the other buildings. For anyone wanting to stay just outside of Nottingham and experience the charm of the English countryside, you couldn't ask for anything more!
